00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.

00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.

00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?

00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.

00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.

00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.

The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

How it works

  1. Choose your MP4.
  2. Set the spoken language; we extract the MP4's audio in your browser and transcribe it.
  3. Download the SRT from the transcript.

Adding the SRT to your MP4

An SRT file sits beside the MP4 rather than inside it. In editors such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut, bring the SRT into your project and line it up with the start of the clip. Platforms that host your videos usually have a subtitles section where the same file can be added.

Media players such as VLC can show the subtitles while you watch, which is a simple way to check the timings before you publish. Keep the SRT and the MP4 in the same folder with matching names so they are easy to pair later.

Meeting recordings and phone videos exported as MP4 sometimes start their sound slightly after the picture. We measure that offset when we take the audio out and shift every cue to match, so the subtitles line up with the MP4 itself. Only the audio uploads, and the 512 MB limit counts that audio, not the video.

Questions

Will the subtitles line up with my MP4?

Yes. We measure where the audio starts inside the MP4 and shift every cue to match, so the subtitles follow the video rather than the bare audio. Each cue is timed to the words it contains; check passages where people talk over each other.

Is the whole MP4 uploaded to make subtitles?

No. Only the audio track is copied out of the MP4 in your browser and uploaded. The picture stays on your device, and the 512 MB limit applies to the extracted audio rather than to the video file.

Can free users download the SRT?

Yes, for the unlocked first 15 min of each transcript; the SRT simply ends there. Sync Pro downloads subtitles for the whole MP4, and VTT is available from the same menu.

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?

Both hold the same timed subtitle cues. SRT is the plain format that editors and media players read; VTT is the web version used by players built into web pages. Pick SRT for editing and VTT for a website.
