00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.

00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.

00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?

00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.

00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.

00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.

The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

How it works

  1. Choose your MP3, such as the dialogue track of your edit.
  2. Set the spoken language and press Transcribe.
  3. Open the transcript and choose Download, then SRT.

Subtitles from the clean dialogue MP3

Podcasters and editors often keep a clean MP3 of the dialogue apart from the edit itself: a mix of the microphones without music or effects. Making subtitles from that MP3 is easier on the transcription than using a final mix with music and effects laid over the voices, and the cue timings come out cleaner.

Line the SRT up by placing it at the same start point as the MP3 in your timeline. If the MP3 was trimmed at the start, trim the edit the same way or shift the subtitle track in your editor; most editors let you move every cue at once.

Podcast clips for social media are the other common case. Transcribe the full episode MP3, then pick out the passages you need; the cue times tell you where each quote sits in the episode, which makes cutting the clip straightforward. Speaker labels appear at the start of each new turn, and you can keep or remove them.

Questions

Are MP3 subtitle timings exact?

They are taken from the spoken words: each cue opens when its text begins and closes when it ends, and a long phrase split across cues keeps the real times of the words in each part. Review crosstalk and very fast exchanges in your editor.

How do I convert audio to subtitles?

Upload the MP3 here and let it transcribe. Open the transcript in your library, choose Download and pick SRT, or VTT for web players. Import that file into your editor at the same start point as the audio.

Will the SRT match my edit?

Yes, if the MP3 starts at the same moment as your timeline. If the audio was trimmed or offset, shift the subtitle track in your editor so the first cue lines up, and the rest will follow.

Can I fix mistakes in the subtitles?

Yes. SRT is plain text, so you can open it in any text editor or subtitle tool and correct names or terms. Keep the cue numbers and time lines as they are, and change only the text lines.

Can free users make MP3 subtitles?

Yes, for the unlocked first 15 min of each transcript; the SRT ends there. Your account has 6 h of free transcription in total, and Sync Pro gives you subtitles for the whole MP3.
