00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.

00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.

00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?

00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.

00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.

00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.

The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

How it works

  1. Choose your audio file, such as an MP3, M4A or WAV.
  2. Set the spoken language and press Transcribe.
  3. Open the transcript, choose Download, then Word.

What is in the Word file

The Word (DOCX) file starts with the title and date of the recording, then lists each passage with its speaker and start time, in the order they were spoken. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice, so you can edit it wherever you normally write.

For interviews and research, a document is often the most practical form of a transcript. Correct names and terms in Word, add your own headings, and quote passages in reports or articles, with the time next to each passage so you can go back to the audio to check. If you prefer a cleaner page, delete the times once you have finished checking.

On the free plan, the document holds the unlocked first 15 min and ends with a line explaining how to unlock the rest with Sync Pro. With Sync Pro the whole transcript is included. The same menu also offers plain text and subtitle files if you need them.

Questions

How do I transcribe audio to a Word document?

Upload the recording here, let it transcribe and open the transcript in your library. Choose Download, then Word, and you get a DOCX file with each passage, its speaker and its start time, ready to edit.

Does the Word file include speakers and timestamps?

Yes. Every passage in the document is labelled with its speaker and start time, and the file begins with the recording's title and date. You can remove the times in Word if you want plain paragraphs.

Is the Word download free?

Free users get a document with the unlocked first 15 min of each transcript, ending with a note about Sync Pro. Sync Pro downloads the full transcript. Your account's free transcription totals 6 h.

Which files can I turn into a Word document?

MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, OGA, WebM, AAC, AMR, SPX, OPUS, MP4, MOV, MKV. Each file can be up to 5 h long and 512 MB. The document looks the same whatever format you upload, because it is made from the transcript, not the audio.
