00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.
00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.
00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?
00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.
00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.
00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.
The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

Subtitles that start at the right moment
Some videos start their sound a little after the picture, a gap that is invisible when you watch but shifts every subtitle if it is ignored. When we extract the audio, we record that offset and add it back to each cue, so the SRT lines up with the original video rather than with the bare audio track.
Each subtitle follows a spoken phrase and is kept to short lines that read comfortably on screen. Long phrases are split between words, and each part keeps the times of the words it holds. A cue carries the speaker label at the start of each new turn, which helps with interviews; remove the labels in your editor if you do not want them.
The SRT does not burn text into the picture. It is a separate file you add in your editor or on the platform where the video is published, so you can correct a name without exporting the video again. Use VTT for players built into websites.

Questions
Do I need to upload the whole video?
No. Only the audio track is taken from the video in your browser and uploaded, and the 512 MB limit applies to that audio. The picture stays on your device while the subtitles are made.
How accurate are video subtitle timings?
Cues follow the speaker's words, and we add the video's audio offset so they start on time. Each cue begins and ends with the words it holds, so a sentence split in two still keeps real times. Check overlapping voices in your editor.
Which video formats work?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, as long as the video has a sound track in a codec we can read. If yours is refused, export it again as MP4 with AAC audio. Each video can be up to 5 h long.
How do I create an SRT file from a video for free?
Choose the video and let it transcribe, signing in free if the page asks, then pick SRT from the Download menu. Free accounts get subtitles for the unlocked first 15 min of each transcript; Sync Pro covers the whole video.
