00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.

00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.

00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?

00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.

00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.

00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.

The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

How it works

  1. Choose your OGG or OGA file.
  2. Pick the spoken language or keep detection on, then press Transcribe.
  3. Read the OGG transcript in your library when it is ready.

Where OGG files come from

OGG is an open container format, so it shows up wherever free and open-source software handles audio: recordings exported from audio editors, sound captured on Linux desktops, and clips saved from some chat, radio and game-voice apps. Files may end in .ogg or .oga; the second is simply the audio-only name for the same container, and both upload here.

Messaging apps often store voice notes in OGG as well, so a voice message saved from a chat usually uploads here without any conversion. Because OGG audio is compressed, even long recordings stay far below the 512 MB limit, and the length limit of 5 h is the one to watch.

If a tool gives you audio with an unusual extension, export it again as OGG, MP3 or M4A rather than renaming it. Renaming a file does not change what is inside: the audio keeps its original format whatever the name says, and a proper export gives you a file that plays and uploads without surprises.

Questions

What is an OGG audio file, and can it be transcribed?

OGG is an open container that usually holds compressed speech or music, often from open-source tools and chat apps. Yes, it can be transcribed: choose the file here, set the language and press Transcribe.

What is an OGA file?

OGA is the audio-only name for an OGG file. Some programs use it to make clear that the file holds only sound. It uploads the same way as .ogg and gives the same kind of transcript.

Can I upload several OGG files at once?

The page takes the first file you drop, so upload them in turn. Each file becomes its own transcript in your library, and on the free plan you can upload up to 10 files a day.

Is OGG transcription free?

You can start free. Your account has 6 h of transcription in total, each OGG file uses hours equal to its length, and free transcripts show the first 15 min.
