00:00 Maya Thanks for joining. Let's start with the launch date.
00:04 Daniel Design is done, but the store listing still needs screenshots.
00:10 Maya Can we have those by Friday?
00:13 Daniel Yes, if marketing sends the final copy tomorrow.
00:18 Priya I'll send it tonight.
00:21 Maya Great. Then the launch date stays where it is.
The team keeps the launch date. Design is finished, and the store screenshots will be ready by Friday once marketing sends the final copy, which Priya sends tonight.

WAV files and the size limit
WAV stores audio without compression. That keeps every detail of the recording, but it also makes files large, far larger than an MP3 of the same length. Stereo recordings at high sample rates grow the most, so a long WAV usually hits the 512 MB size limit well before the 5 h length limit.
If your file is too large, you do not need to throw quality away. Convert it to FLAC, which is lossless and much smaller, or to M4A or MP3, which makes the file smaller still. A recording made with one microphone can also be exported again as mono. Keep both channels if each person was recorded on a separate side, because the uploader can then treat each channel as its own speaker.
Field recorders, studio software and many conference audio systems save WAV by default, and those recordings are often clean, with the microphone close to the speaker. That helps the transcript more than the format itself: a clear voice with little room noise matters more than whether the file is compressed.

Questions
How do I transcribe a WAV file to text?
Choose the WAV on this page, pick the spoken language or leave detection on, and press Transcribe; sign in free if the page asks. The transcript appears in your library with speaker labels, a summary and chapters.
My WAV file is too large. What can I do?
Convert it to FLAC, which keeps the audio lossless and takes much less space; M4A and MP3 shrink it further. Mono also helps when everyone shared one microphone, but keep stereo if each speaker has a channel of their own. Any of these keeps speech clear enough to transcribe.
Is WAV better for transcription than MP3?
Only a little, in most cases. A normal-quality MP3 keeps speech clear, so the format matters far less than a close microphone, little background noise and people taking turns. Upload whichever file you have.
Can I transcribe WAV files for free?
Yes, within the free plan. Your account has 6 h of transcription in total and up to 10 files a day, and you read the first 15 min of each transcript.
