Lithuanian letters, endings and names
The transcript is written in Lithuanian (lietuvių kalba) with its full alphabet: ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž. Those letters carry grammar, not decoration: the -ų in "darbuotojų" marks the genitive plural, and dropping it changes the sentence. The text keeps them, so it can go into a report or an article once you have read it through.
Lithuanian nouns and names change their endings with case, so a colleague called Tomas is addressed as "Tomai" and Justė becomes "Justei" or "Justės". When you check a transcript, read the endings of names, places and company names first. The picker entry stands for standard Lithuanian; speakers of Samogitian (žemaičių) or strong Aukštaitian dialects may need a closer read, and we make no promise about how dialect comes out.
Common files are recorded online meetings, job and research interviews, university lectures, and calls between families in Lithuania and relatives in the UK, Ireland or Norway. If people slip into English or Russian for a phrase, keep Lithuanian selected when most of the talk is Lithuanian; detection picks one language for the whole file. WhatsApp's published list for its own voice transcription doesn't include Lithuanian as of now, so a saved voice note can be uploaded here. The transcript stays in Lithuanian and is not translated.

Questions
What if my file isn't Lithuanian?
Choose the language that is actually spoken, for example Latvian, Polish, Russian or English, or pick automatic detection. If the transcript sounds like another language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.
Are the Lithuanian letters kept?
Yes. The transcript uses ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž as Lithuanian is written. If a program shows question marks instead, open or save the text as Unicode rather than an older encoding.
Why should I check names in a Lithuanian transcript?
Names change their endings with case, so the same person can appear as Tomas, Tomai or Tomo within one conversation. Foreign names and small place names are the likeliest to need a fix, so read them before you share the transcript.
My call mixes Lithuanian and Russian. Which language do I choose?
Choose the language most of the call is in. SeaMeet transcribes one language per file, so short Russian or English phrases inside Lithuanian speech usually stay as spoken, while long passages in the other language may come out less cleanly.
Is Lithuanian transcription free?
Yes, within the free limits: 6 h of transcription in total, and the first 15 min of each transcript readable on the free plan. Sync Pro unlocks full transcripts.
