Arabic script, dialects and right-to-left text
The transcript is written in Arabic script (العربية), right to left, mostly without short-vowel marks. In our test, hamza forms were sometimes simplified, for example إ written as ا, which is common in everyday typing but worth fixing in a formal document. English loanwords such as laptop may come back in Arabic letters.
The picker has one Arabic entry. Modern Standard Arabic, the language of news and lectures, gives the cleanest result. Dialects such as Egyptian, Gulf or Levantine are transcribed too, but words that exist only in the dialect may be spelled the way Modern Standard Arabic would write them, or misheard. If quotes matter, compare them with the recording.
Files come from university lectures, sermons and talks, WhatsApp voice notes, and interviews. Right-to-left text can look scrambled when it lands in an editor set to left-to-right; paste it into a document with the right paragraph direction. SRT subtitles also carry the Arabic text right to left, with times from the spoken words, and most subtitle editors show it correctly.

Questions
What if my recording isn't in Arabic?
Choose the language that is spoken, or pick automatic detection. If the finished transcript sounds like another language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.
Can it transcribe Egyptian or Gulf Arabic?
Yes, dialect recordings are transcribed with the Arabic entry. Words that only exist in a dialect may be spelled in the Modern Standard Arabic way or misheard, so check important passages against the audio.
Why does the text look jumbled when I paste it?
The editor is probably set to left-to-right. Set the paragraph direction to right-to-left, or paste into an app that detects Arabic, and the words fall into the right order.
Does the SRT work right to left?
Yes. The SRT file keeps the Arabic text as written, and subtitle players that support Arabic show it right to left. Check punctuation at the ends of lines, which some players move to the wrong side.
Is Arabic transcription free?
