Urdu script, not Roman Urdu
The transcript is written in Urdu script (اردو), right to left, the way Urdu is printed. In our test the output was Urdu script, not Roman Urdu. Many people in Pakistan type Urdu in Latin letters on their phones, so if that is what you need, this page will not give it to you; the transcript is in the Urdu alphabet, and you would convert it yourself.
Urdu speech is full of English: semester, schedule, meeting, final. Keep the language on Urdu when most of the talk is Urdu, and those words usually come back written in Urdu letters, as in شیڈول. A recording that is mostly English should use English instead. Urdu and Hindi sound close in speech, so choose Urdu yourself rather than leaving it to detection.
Typical files are WhatsApp voice notes, university classes, religious talks and interviews. Right-to-left text can look out of order in an editor set to left-to-right, so set the paragraph direction before you paste. SRT subtitles keep the Urdu text with times from the spoken words.

Questions
Can I get the transcript in Roman Urdu?
No. The transcript is written in Urdu script, right to left. If you need Roman Urdu, convert the checked text with a separate tool; the page does not produce Latin-letter Urdu.
What if my recording isn't in Urdu?
Choose the language that is spoken, for example Hindi, Punjabi or English, or pick automatic detection. If the transcript sounds like another language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.
What happens to English words in Urdu speech?
Keep the picker on Urdu when most of the conversation is Urdu. English words that people mix in usually come back in Urdu letters. Check names and technical terms before you share the text.
Is Urdu transcription free?
