How it works

Tone marks, regional accents and Vietnamese voice notes

The transcript is written in standard Vietnamese (tiếng Việt) with its tone marks and letters such as ă, ơ and đ, not as unaccented text. Tones carry meaning, so a transcript without them would be hard to read; here they are part of the output, and the places to check are names and words that sound alike in fast speech.

Speakers from Hanoi, Huế and Ho Chi Minh City all go to the Vietnamese model. Northern and southern accents differ in tones and some consonants, and a strong regional accent can produce the occasional slip, so compare quotes with the audio.

Voice messages from Zalo or Messenger are a common source: save the file from the chat and upload it. Students upload recorded classes, and small business owners record interviews and meetings. The transcript stays in Vietnamese and is not translated into English. The SRT subtitles keep the tone marks, with times from the spoken words.

Questions

What if my recording isn't in Vietnamese?

Choose the language that is spoken, or pick automatic detection. If the transcript sounds like another language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.

Does it work for northern and southern accents?

Yes, both go to the same Vietnamese model. Strong accents and fast speech may produce the odd mistake, so read quotes and names against the recording.

How do I transcribe a Zalo voice message?

Save or share the voice message from the chat to your phone or computer, then choose the file here. SeaMeet does not connect to Zalo; you upload the saved file.

Is Vietnamese transcription free?
