Spanish accents, voice notes and the transcript
The picker's Spanish entry is Mexican Spanish, the variant this page starts on. Recordings from Spain, Argentina, Colombia or the Caribbean still go to the same Spanish model, so you do not need a different setting for them. The text keeps Spanish spelling, including accents and the opening ¿ and ¡ marks where the sentence needs them, so it reads as written español rather than as rough notes.
The transcript is in Spanish: it is not translated into English. If you came here for a translation, transcribe first and then translate the text you have checked. That order also keeps names and local terms from getting lost, since you can fix them in the Spanish before anything else touches them.
Spanish files often come from WhatsApp voice notes, podcast episodes, radio interviews and university classes. Spanglish is common in the United States; keep the language on Spanish when most of the talk is Spanish, and English words usually stay as spoken. The SRT subtitles keep the Spanish text with times taken from the spoken words.

Questions
What if my recording isn't in Spanish?
Choose the language that is spoken in the picker, or pick automatic detection. If the transcript sounds like another language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.
Does it work for Spanish from Spain, not just Mexico?
Yes. The picker lists Mexican Spanish, but recordings from Spain and the rest of Latin America go to the same Spanish model. Local words and names are worth a quick check before you share the transcript.
Will it translate my Spanish audio into English?
No. The transcript comes out in Spanish, the language that was spoken. If you need an English version, check the Spanish text first and then translate it with the tool you prefer.
Is Spanish transcription free?
Yes, within the free limits. You have 6 h of transcription in total, and on the free plan you read the first 15 min of every transcript. Sync Pro unlocks whole episodes and long interviews.
