Brazilian and European Portuguese recordings

The picker lists Brazilian Portuguese, so this page starts there. Files recorded in Portugal, Angola or Mozambique go through the same Portuguese model; the transcript follows the speech, and spelling may lean towards Brazilian forms, so give local words and names a read if the text is for a Portuguese audience. Accents and cedillas are written as in normal português.

In Brazil, a lot of everyday talk happens in WhatsApp audio: customers ordering, teams checking in, family news. Save the voice note from the chat and upload it here, or upload a longer file such as a class, an interview for research or an episode of a podcast. The transcript splits the recording into speaker turns and adds a short summary and chapters.

Informal speech is transcribed as spoken, so expressions such as a gente, tá and pra stay the way people say them instead of being made formal. That is useful for research and for quotes. The text stays in Portuguese and is not translated. When the transcript is right, the SRT subtitles carry the same text with times from the spoken words.

What if my recording isn't in Portuguese?

Choose the spoken language in the picker, or pick automatic detection. If the transcript sounds like a different language, one click transcribes the file again in that language.

Does it work for European Portuguese?

Yes, European Portuguese goes through the same model. The picker says Brazilian Portuguese because that is the listed variant; read the transcript once for spelling if your readers are in Portugal.
