- Choose your Danish recording: a team meeting, a lecture, a podcast or an interview.
- Danish is already selected, so just press Transcribe, or let SeaMeet detect it.
- Read who said what, then download the text or SRT subtitles.
Danish spelling, dialects and English in the mix
The transcript is written in standard Danish (dansk) with æ, ø and å, not the ae, oe and aa that old keyboards and some email systems fall back to. Spoken Danish swallows consonants and runs words together, but the text uses normal Danish spelling rather than writing things the way they sound, so the stød and other unwritten sounds leave no mark on the page.
The picker entry is Danish as spoken in Denmark. Recordings in Jutlandic, Funen or Bornholm dialect use the same entry, and broad local words may come out in standard spelling, so read place names and dialect terms before you pass the text on. Faroese and Greenlandic are separate languages and not what this entry stands for.
Danish workplaces borrow English freely (deadline, feedback, meeting), and Nordic meetings often move between Danish, Swedish and Norwegian. Automatic detection picks one language per file, so keep the picker on Danish when most of the talk is Danish, and read the turns of Swedish or Norwegian speakers against the audio.
Typical Danish files are team meetings, university lectures, research interviews, podcasts and an association's generalforsamling (annual general meeting). As of now, WhatsApp's own voice transcription lists Danish on recent iPhone versions but not on Android, and it shows the text only inside the chat. Here the transcript is a file in your Library, with speaker labels, a summary, chapters and SRT subtitles in Danish.

Questions
What if my file isn't Danish?
Change the language picker to the language that is spoken, or choose automatic detection. If a transcript reads like another language, one click transcribes the same file again in that language, so you don't need to upload it twice.
Are æ, ø and å kept?
Yes. The transcript uses æ, ø and å as Danish is written, not ae, oe or aa. If an older program shows odd characters when you paste the text, open or save it as Unicode text and the letters come back.
Does it handle Jutlandic or other dialects?
Choose Danish for any Danish dialect; there is no separate entry for Jutlandic, Funen or Bornholm speech. Broad dialect words may be written in standard Danish spelling, so check names, places and local expressions before the transcript goes any further.
Can one file mix Danish with Swedish or Norwegian?
Each file is transcribed in one language. Pick the one most people speak, which is usually Danish in a Danish-led meeting. We haven't tested how Swedish or Norwegian turns come out in a file set to Danish, so check them against the audio. For a mostly Norwegian or Swedish file, choose that language instead.
How much Danish transcription is free?
A free account has 6 h of transcription in total. On the free plan the first 15 min of each transcript are readable, and Sync Pro opens the full text. Each file can be up to 512 MB and 5 h long.
